Grilled Pineapple with Honey Lime Dipping Sauce

Pineapple on the Grill

I had a goal this year of getting more comfortable using our grill. Unfortunately this is the first thing I’ve grilled this summer! And I burnt myself multiple times and felt like my eyebrows were getting singed every time I opened the darn thing.  What am I doing wrong??    Lady grillers – leave me your tips.

But I did manage to grill up some delicious pineapple (probably the easiest thing to grill ever). It’s hard to call this a recipe because it is basically just throwing pineapple on the grill and that’s it. No marinating, basting, or anything extra needed. I also whipped up a quick dipping sauce but the star of the show is really the grilled pineapple.

Grilled pineapple is also great on shish kabobs, in salsas, or on top of vanilla ice cream.  Yum!

Grilled Pineapple with Honey Lime Dipping Sauce

1 large pineapple, cut into strips

For dipping sauce:

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (I love Siggi’s)

1/2 tablespoon honey

the juice of one lime

Grill pineapple strips, about 4-5 minutes on each side.  Mix ingredients for dipping sauce in small bowl.  When pineapple is done, cut into chunks.  Dip into sauce and enjoy!

Same here! The grill is intimidating! I should use my grill pan more often – good idea!

I am terrified of the grill! I brought over some veggies to grill at a friends for a grilled veggie salad and a moment of complete panic ensued when I was left alone at the grill…heart palpitations, sweaty palms…it’s a wonder how the salad actually turned out ok!

Ha! That’s hilarious…but I’m glad the salad turned out. I always have an irrational fear the grill is going to blow up in my face…so I understand your terror. :)
