It never fails…I usually get poison ivy at least once a summer. I have experimented with many home remedies to deal with the itching and I think I finally found something that works! I read online somewhere that clay masks can help with poison ivy so I thought I would give it a try. I have had this Aztec Secret clay mask for awhile and I use it ever so often. It is a bit intense for my sensitive skin but turns out it works perfectly to heal poison ivy. It’s recommended to mix with apple cider vinegar (what doesn’t ACV help?!?) but it can also be mixed with water. I used this on a spot of poison ivy and I can say while applied it did not itch at all. I applied it about twice a day for two days and by then the spot was pretty much healed.
When mixed the clay and vinegar start to bubble and it is recommended to mix with a wooden spoon to not interfere with the reaction.
Just in case, here’s a reminder of the three plants that can contain urushiol, the oil that causes the itchy rash.

Hopefully you won’t have to use this at all but just in case, you can get the clay mask on Amazon or I’ve seen it in health food stores too.
